Dragon Age II, the immensely popular role-playing video game developed by Bioware's Edmonton studios, has reached version 1.02 through a patch released by the developers to include tons of tweaks and enhancements, as well as numerous bug fixes.

Published by Electronic Arts, Dragon Age II is the second major game in BioWare's Dragon Age franchise. The new installment reached Mac OS X gamers on March 8, 2011 in North America, and March 11, 2011, in Europe.

The title is also available for Microsoft Windows PCs, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360.

Dragon Age II is set in the same mythical world introduced in the original game. Players assume the role of Hawke, a human mage, warrior, or rogue as he arrives in the city of Kirkwall.

“We’ve just received confirmation that Dragon Age II Patch 1.02 is now available for the PC and Mac systems,” reads a post signed Rob Bartel (of Bioware) on the studio’s official forums.

Bartel notes that while PC users can download a standalone installer for the patch, Mac gamers must update from within the game.

Patch 1.02 includes over 100 major and minor fixes, Bartel reveals.

The full changelog is offered in his post, including important information on the much-improved experience on systems equipped with recently-updated AMD and NVIDIA cards.

Touching Gameplay, Bartel dishes out close to a dozen fixes and tweaks.

On Quests, avid fans of the game are warned that there may be spoilers in the changelog, so for those who like to ‘live’ the entire experience, it’s probably best not to read through.

Finally, some information on PC/Mac-specific functionality is offered. In other words, these changes don’t apply to the console (PS3, Xbox 360) installments of Dragon Age II.
