Dragon Age 3 is going to feature an open world, which can be explored by players in all sorts of ways, much like the first Dragon Age: Origins and other types of RPGs, according to a new report.

The Dragon Age series made by BioWare attracted lots of old-school role-playing game fans with the first Origins, but many of them disapproved of the streamlined sequel that came out last year.

In the last few months, without actually confirming the next Dragon Age title, BioWare has begun gathering feedback from fans about their expectations for the franchise.

According to a new report, one of the big aspects of Dragon Age 3 is an open world, which can be freely traveled, at least according to a BioWare fan who apparently talked about the upcoming title with one of the studio’s developers.

“He mentioned Dragon Age 3 will be open realm, and you will be free to travel anywhere and do what you want,” he posted on the GameFAQs forums.

The report isn’t that reliable but, given the popularity of other open world RPGs, like Skyrim, it’s a safe bet that BioWare will follow the same strategy with Dragon Age III.
