Video game developer BioWare has said that it plans to launch more downloadable content for its mix between role playing and action Dragon Age 2 in order to show fans that they have learned from their mistakes and can deliver improved content.

Speaking to Eurogamer Ray Muzyka, who is one of the co founders of BioWare, has told Eurogamer that, “We have some new DLC that's upcoming that's going to try and address some of the comments and try and provide the fans with the things they're looking for, both the core fans and the new fans.”

He added, “We're committing to making sure all the products in the franchise going forward are going to appeal to a wide audience, both the core and more.”

The developer has not said what the new downloadable content will offer or when it might be launched.

Muzyka has recognized that the Dragon Age 2 launch has been one of the most polarizing ever for BioWare, with the game receiving both praise and critics from both reviewers and players.

The executive says that the most important criticism for the development team comes from those who have also played the first title in the series, Origins, which was significantly different from Dragon Age 2 in terms of game mechanics.

Still BioWare is pretty satisfied with Dragon Age 2 and with the changes they have made to the game, although it's not clear how many of them will return in the sequel.

The game was widely criticized for offering too little in the way of content, with dungeons receiving small changes from quest to quest, but also for simplifying the role playing elements too much.

The development of Dragon Age 3 has been confirmed by a BioWare employee via Twitter but the studio has not offered any hints about the mechanics or the story of the next installment in the series.
