Dare to be Creative has updated Dragoman, its universal batch file converter for Mac OS X 10.4 and 10.5. Version 1.6 of the software delivers more image conversion options when setting the DPI print resolution and selecting that of Kodak PCD photos.

According to its makers, Dragoman can now assist users in choosing one of six Kodak PCD resolutions for images they want to use to make a conversion. The new release also supports direct conversion from EPS to bitmap image formats, with an option to change the DPI print resolution when converting photographs also being added.

Dragoman saves the day when you download music, for example, but can't listen to the tracks on your mp3 player. The app comes to your assistance by converting them into whatever your player supports. Just drag the music files into Dragoman's window, and the app will take it from there.

However, this is just the tip of the iceberg as far as Dragoman's converting abilities go. It does image files, text formats, as well as archives. For example, if a friend sends you a RAR file, but you need that converted to ZIP, or compressed to 7Zip, Dragoman can do it. Popular image formats are supported, including PDF, JPEG, PNG, TIFF and GIF. You simply drag the items in, pick a new format, and drag them back out again. As soon as you're done adding the pictures you need converted, Dragoman will convert all of them for you, while you go about your business.

The software also displays a bar that shows you the exact status of your file conversions, should you want to keep an eye on its progress. Dragoman can search for updates on the Internet, if you configure the preferences accordingly. Video support, HTML, and source code file conversions have yet to be included in Dragoman, although Dare to be Creative stated a long time ago that future versions would pack these enhancements.
