Dr Seuss's Cat in the Hat is a video game created by Magenta Software and published by Vivendi Universal Game. The game was developed for the PlayStation 2 console from Sony, the Xbox from Microsoft and the PC. It was released in 2003. It is classed as an action adventure game, with a touch of manga and played from a third person perspective. It is based on the license to the animated Cat in the Hat series.

The game is clearly based on Dr Seuss's Cat in the Hat and allows the player to enter the role of the cheeky cat. The game proudly puts on display all the original characters, including Conrad, Sally and Mr. Quinn. The plot is based around Doctor Quinn, who has tricked Conrad and Sally to open the box the Cat was in causing it to be released to the outside world. Now, the Cat is on a quest to help Conrad and Sally as they are trying to get the magic box back and to add magic to it. They need to get all three pieces that make up the Crab Lock. The lock is the only thing that can seal the box and the cat forever.

The game allows you to see the rooms that were not included in the movie.

The release received widespread critical acclaim from reviewers, even if it is aimed at a very specific demographic.
