Dr Sebagh Sun-City Protection SPF 30

- A revolutionary sunscreen that provides lasting UVB, UVA, infrared and hyper-pigmentation protection

By: Monica Gaza, Life & Style Editor

Summer is coming and one important step we need to take – if we haven't done it already – is to find ourselves in possession of a good-quality sunscreen. And as we ladies know, that can often turn into a huge dilemma, especially if we take into account the fact that today's SPF guidelines are still quite confusing and there are still plenty of concerns regarding the potentially
damaging side-effects of both chemical filters (which absorb radiation) and mineral filters (aimed to deflect radiation).

Another fact that some of us may not be aware of is that the widely used SFP tags only refer to a product's capacity to protect the skin from UVB radiation, responsible for causing sunburn and being a huge potential risk factor for cancer, and do not offer any indication as to the degree of protection a product provides against UVA rays, which target elastin and are responsible for ageing the skin. Unfortunately, SPF moisturizers – attractive as they may be – will not do our skin any good, which makes us look around for another sunscreen, one that can preferably be used as a makeup base as well.

Enter the latest innovation in UVB, UVA, infrared and hyper-pigmentation protection from Dr Sebagh – a little something we may easily be tempted to call a miracle cure: the SPF 30 Sun-City Protection cream. It uses a micro-filter complex with zinc and titane, which blends both organic and inorganic UV absorbers for lasting protection.

It's suitable for all skin types, even for sensitive skin, and it also has the added advantages of controlling shine and having a light, silky texture, thus providing a smooth, soft finish that makes it an ideal base for makeup. Its innovative formula also absorbs free radicals for added UVA protection. It has to be applied over our daily moisturizer and reapplied regularly, particularly during prolonged exposure to the sun. A tube of 50 ml retails for around $75 – worth every cent.
