Rapper Dr. Dre and music mogul Jimmy Iovine, the co-founder of Interscope Records, are using their star-power to do some good for the community: the two have donated the impressive sum of $70 million (€54.4 million) to the University of Southern California in Los Angeles.

The money will go to fund an Arts Academy for young talented people, who will start their first class in the fall of 2014, Rolling Stone magazine informs.

“The gift will create the USC Jimmy Iovine and Andre Young Academy for Arts, Technology and the Business of Innovation, with the intention of attracting students ‘who challenge conventional views of art and industry,’ according to a statement by the university,” the music publication writes.

Four core subjects will be the focus of classes, as per the same media outlet: “arts and entrepreneurship; technology, design and marketability; concept and business platforms and creating a prototype.”

Each class will have only 25 students chosen after a through screening process which will take into consideration both their academic achievements up to that moment and their “proven ability for original thought.”
