Michael Jackson’s personal cardiologist, Dr. Conrad Murray, the doctor who was with him when his heart stopped beating and he literally slept to death following administration of the anesthetic Propofol, will be charged with manslaughter. The police initially wanted to charge him with second-degree murder, but since chances of getting a conviction from a jury in the absence of a motive led to the charge of manslaughter. An arrest will be made next week, Fox News informs.

The LAPD denies a conclusion has been reached in the investigation, but the source is adamant that, while not yet official, it’s almost certain that Dr. Murray will take the fall. The police are yet to decide whether to arrest him in Los Angeles or have a warrant issued for him in Houston, where he is now currently residing. Everything should be made official no later than two weeks from now, Fox News says, citing the inside source.

“Michael Jackson’s personal physician will be charged with manslaughter within the next two weeks, a law enforcement source told FOXNews. The source initially said Dr. Conrad Murray could be arrested as soon as next Wednesday – but investigators have decided to execute one more search warrant, likely at a Los Angeles pharmacy, next week in an attempt to gather more evidence against him. The arrest is now expected the following week.” Fox News writes.

As per the same inside source, whose identity Fox does not reveal, Murray is not the only physician that will be prosecuted following the singer’s death. Dr. Arnold Klein, a longtime friend of Jackson’s and once the presumed father of his children as well, will also be targeted on issues related to medical malpractice, it is being said. However, the police are still building the case against him, gathering evidence of all wrongdoing as we speak. In his case too, an arrest is to be expected in about a fortnight.

Just yesterday, Dr. Conrad Murray emerged from hiding to release a video in which he addressed all those who supported him thus far. “I told the truth,” the doctor insisted in the video, expressing his belief that justice would prevail in the end and show that he was not responsible for the King of Pop’s death.
