BIOS, drivers and utilities for new Z77 Biostar board

Yesterday we wrote about the new line of Biostar motherboards, and the way Intel's new Z77, H77 and B75 chipsets gained way more favor than the X79 one.

Today's Biostar blog entry is about another Z77 motherboard, codenamed the TZ77B and bearing the same (rather weird) Ver. 5.x appendix. And we say it's weird especially as we're talking about a new board, based on a new chipset; and adding "Version 5.x" after the name of a new board is indeed peculiar.

Long story short, the TZ77B is designed to accommodate the LGA 1155 processors, namely the 2nd and 3rd generation Core units and the unlocked K-series. With 22nm Core CPUs, users can take full advantage of the maximal memory speed of 2600 MHz (overclocked).

Speaking of memory, the Biostar TZ77B comes with a 4-DIMM dual-channel architecture that can hold up to 32 GB DDR3. The fast memory is neatly complemented by the presence of 6GB/s SATA3 connectors and the USB 3.0 ports, making sure users benefit from the fastest data transfer speeds with their modern storage devices.

While the graphics performance depends on the CPU model, users can also upgrade their TZ77B-based system with any AMD-powered display adapter, as this motherboard is CrossFireX-compatible. No SLI capabilities, sorry!

You can now download the Biostar TZ77B BIOS and drivers for free, as usual.
