Not long after Activision and Infinity Ward rolled out the Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare free demo, Sierra Entertainment and Saber Interactive also made a demo of their upcoming FPS available. It's available for free download right HERE. Below, we've made available a few details of the full game, such as plot and features confirmed by Sierra, as well as system requirements, but keep in mind that some gameplay features don't apply to the demo.

The first thing you need to know is where the action takes place, right? Well, as Sierra puts it, TimeShift is set in the not too distant future, taking the genre to an entirely different "dimension" where the world as we know it has been erased from history - the very memory of us will be wiped out like tears in the rain. Our descendants will never be born - our existence will become but a mere dream and the future as we know it will never come to be.

As a gamer, you assume the role of retired Colonel, Michael Swift, who has been selected by the US Government to test two of the most significant inventions of the century - a time-control device called the "Quantum Suit" and a time machine called the "Quantum Transporter." But just before he gets a chance to carry out his experiments, his laboratory is invaded by a masked man and in the confusion, Swift is briefly sent back in time to 1900. Upon his return to the present, the world he left has changed beyond all recognition. As you can imagine, it'll be your responsibility to find a way to rectify things and find out who and what caused the changes.

Basic gameplay features confirmed for the full version of TimeShift:

- Slow, stop, and reverse the flow of time while you remain totally unaffected - Manipulate time and eliminate enemies through 11 missions and over 30 levels - Select from 10 incredibly detailed, unique weapons, each with standard and alternate fire - Compete against up to 16 players online using time as a weapon - Explore the Steampunk inspired Krone Era and become immersed in an alternate reality of metal, gears, and plasma energy

And just in case you were wondering whether your PC would support TimeShift's crisp visuals and fast paced... pace, here are the recommended system specs for running the game optimally:

Operating System: Windows 2000/XP Processor: 2 GHz processor (2.5 GHz recommended) RAM: 512 MB RAM Video Card: 128 MB video card with full hardware T&L support Processor: Sound Card, Mouse, Keyboard
