14 DAY TRIAL // Soccer fans can follow the UEFA EURO 2012 with the Official UEFA EURO 2012 app which, according to the Union of European Football Associations, offers “the full UEFA EURO 2012 experience.”
“The official UEFA EURO 2012 app keeps you close to all the action during the 14th UEFA European Football Championship (from 8 June to 1 July 2012 in Poland and Ukraine),” according to the association.
“Wherever you are, stay tuned to the tournament, follow your favourite team and share the excitement with your friends on Facebook and Twitter.”
The app goes full blast with a calendar, standings, lineups, players profiles, detailed statistics and a neat photo gallery. It lets you read and share the latest articles on the UEFA EURO 2012 tournament, as well as to set up personalized alerts for the latest news about your favorite team, including match events.
Other features include the ability to watch players and coaches give free video interviews, and to watch match highlights (available for purchase after midnight).
Updated June 4, version 2.1 brings sharing fixes and several performance improvements.
Two months ago, UEFA and Orange teamed up to launch the Official UEFA EURO 2012 mobile app, deemed as “the definitive source of information on Europe's top national team football tournament.
"A combination of UEFA's football knowledge and Orange's digital understanding has allowed us to create an exciting experience for supporters with the Official UEFA EURO 2012 mobile application through the integration of tournament information, live match updates, the latest news as well as certain social media and geolocation features," said Alexandre Fourtoy, UEFA communications director.
The iOS app is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad and requires iOS 4.2 or later. Supported languages include English, French, German, Italian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Ukrainian.
