If you like the haute-tension footage of skillful motorbike riders, extreme skiers or snowboarders, rock-riding bikers and other similar breathtaking action, you should know that most of these movies have been shot using GoPro cameras.

The GoPro cameras bear the (neat) name Hero, and we're now offering you the latest firmware for two of them: the HD Hero and HD Hero2. Updating the firmware in your GoPro HD Hero is a fast and easy task, so you don’t have any excuse to avoid this operation.

After downloading the GoPro HD Hero Firmware on your computer, you must unzip the files and thus get the firmware.bin file. Copy it to the root folder of your SD card and then, with the camera powered OFF, insert the said card in your HD Hero.

1.While camera is OFF, hold down the SHUTTER button (top button) NOTE: The SHUTTER button must be pressed down for the entire installation process. Do not release until process is complete.

2. Still holding down the SHUTTER button, press the POWER MODE button (front button) once. Camera will power on.

3. While still holding SHUTTER button down, once the file counter registers the SD card, press the POWER MODE button again (3 times) until the display reads “UP”. The red light will flash for 5-10 seconds before automatically shutting itself OFF. There you go!

Now, upgrading the firmware in your GoPro HD Hero2 to version 70 requires that you download and install the GoPro CineForm Studio utility suitable for your operating system. Aside from helping you upgrade the firmware, this utility will also let you perform color corrections, enhancements and prepare your files for web publishing, as well as create 3D videos with the GoPro 3D Hero system.
