A good piece of news comes from Intel: new display drivers are being released for a number of Atom-based motherboards.
The new Graphics Media Accelerator driver reaches version 8.14.8.1065 and the current release is intended for Windows Vista and 7, but only for the 32-bit distributions. No word so far of an x64 release for the driver, though.
The installation executable for the Intel GMA 8.14.8.1065 driver comes in a multi-language pack and Intel has offered no data o potential issues with this version. It is advised though to establish a restore point before proceeding to the driver update, just to be on the safe side.
The Intel Graphics Media Accelerator Driver 8.14.8.1065 for Vista and Windows 7 is intended for the following products:
Intel Desktop Board D2500CC
Intel Desktop Board D2500HN
Intel Desktop Board D2700DC
Intel Desktop Board D2700MUD
Intel Desktop Board DN2800MT.
