Netgear has released the 10.0.1.13 firmware version that is targeted at its 3 Fast Ethernet and 5 (out of 9) Gigabit managed switches, which belong to the M4100 Family that has been recently revealed.

The 4 devices that don’t enjoy a firmware update, at least for now, are the M4100-D12G-POE+, M4100-12GF, M4100-12G-POE+, and M4100-24G-POE+ Gigabit switches.

For the other 8 devices, the new package adds L2+ with static routing and support for both OUI- and protocol-based VoIP features. Moreover, it brings advanced filtering with IGMP and MLD (snooping and querier modes), as well as IPv4/IPv6 deep traffic filtering (ACLs) and prioritization (QoS-Diffserv).

When it comes to installing the firmware, first save the current configuration data by going to Maintenance → Upload, selecting “Text Configuration” and clicking the “Apply” button.

Afterwards, go to Maintenance → Download, and select the downloadable firmware via the “Browse...” button to start the update process. When you click “Apply,” the file starts transferring to the switch followed by the writing of the new firmware version.

After the process is complete, go to Maintenance → Restart, and select the “All” value for “Reboot Unit No.,” check “Save prior to reboot” for safety, and click “Apply” to reboot – and that’s quite all.

Now that you took into account all the aspects, follow the link below and choose the one that best describes your device.
