The powerful iStat Menus system utility for Mac OS X has been promoted to version 4.05 today, adding CPU Core temperature sensors and CPU power sensors for a number of Sandy/Ivy Bridge-based systems.

In addition to the aforementioned enhancement, iStat Menus 4.05 improves support for Cisco VPN connections, and boasts overall better performance, according to Bjango (the developer).

Half a dozen bug fixes are also making their way into this release. The addressed issues include: incorrect connection state problems with VPN connections, invalid/unsupported temperature sensors are shown on some Macintosh configurations, a menubar time format problem involving multiple hour tokens, and incorrect disk names being shown in disk activity.

Also addressed in this release is a display issue where the upload and download graph colors acted up. iStat Menus 4.05 requires OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) or newer versions.
