Hobbyist Software Limited has released updated versions of the company’s popular VLC Streamer applications for iPhone and iPad. Both the free and the paid versions are getting improvements and new translations.

VLC Streamer lets you browse local drives, including Windows network shares, to stream your entire library of videos (and music) to your iDevice. You can stream content over Wi-Fi directly from your computer, and employ customizable gesture controls. Users also get support for multiple resolutions and streaming quality levels.

Version 2.65 comes with “various updates” and a bunch of new translations. Sadly, Hobbyist Software fails to elaborate on the new enhancements, but we’re sure avid users will notice them instantly when they update their VLC Streamer installation.

VLC Streamer will not play DRM-protected videos and is designed to work on your local network. The tool supports Windows, XP, Vista, Windows 7 and Window 8, and Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard (and above). The free version of VLC Streamer is supported by adverts, but otherwise offers full functionality.
