“iPCU 3.6.2 contains updates to support iOS 6.1,” says Apple

After rolling out a new version of its mobile operating system powering iPhones, iPads, and iPod touch players, Apple quickly pushed out iPhone Configuration Utility 3.6.2 for Windows, an updated build of the iDevice management tool which supports iOS 6.1.

Apple’s iPhone Configuration Utility is mostly used by administrators where iPhones are deployed in the workforce.

The tool, provided free of charge by Apple, lets you create, maintain, encrypt, and install configuration profiles, as well as track applications, and even capture device logs.

iPhone Configuration Utility also handles device security policies, VPN configuration information, Wi-Fi settings, APN settings, mail settings, and certificates for enterprise systems.

The latest version of the software, dubbed “iPCU 3.6.2” by Apple, delivers full support for iOS 6.1, the latest available iOS version.

Weighing in at 43.57 MB, iPhone Configuration Utility 3.6.2 requires Windows XP SP3, Windows Vista SP1, or Windows 7, as well as .NET 3.5 SP1. The software supports Deutsch, English, Français, Español, Italiano, Nederlands, and Chinese.
