Gorgeous wallpapers specially crafted for the new iPad

With the new iPad out, wallpapers are suddenly more attractive. Not that they weren’t already, but anything you put on that gorgeous Retina display looks like real life now.

Even more so when the author of the images strives to tailor them pixel by pixel to the new iPad’s resolution, resulting in some mind-boggling imagery.

You won’t truly assess the quality of Carey’s images until you actually see them on your new iPad’s display, so we suggest you head over to his blog, make your picks, then load them up on your tablet and try them out.

Carey has one request from users, and that is not to link directly to his works, if you plan on spreading the word about the cool stuff he’s doing to the iPad user base. Instead, just link to the guy’s blog here.

“The apparently beautiful new iPad screens have a remarkably high resolution, nearly as big as the large, full size desktop wallpapers I offer,” writes Carey. “Knowing this I knew it was time to jump in and start cropping images for all of the new iPad owners out there. It’s a bit time consuming but you guys know I love you so here we go.”

“I would honestly love to be able to include every wallpaper I have ever released and simply update the files on the backend but it would be far to great in scope for me to handle on my own,” he said.

“For whatever reason I don’t have an intern handy to sit at a desk and crop images for me all day. That said, I have done my best to get a nice healthy group of many favorites from the past all in one place as a way to catch up to the newest tech. From here forward expect every new wallpaper post to include the larger retina sized iPad images as well as the other usuals.”

Carey informs that some users have been unable to download the full resolution images directly on their iPad through Mobile Safari. This is a known issue with Apple’s web browser in iOS 5.1 (which will hopefully get rectified soon). Instead, users can download the images on their computer and then sync them up to the iPad.
