Ryan Petrich, iOS developer and mobile engineer at Medialets, has put together a Retina Display simulator that allows other developers to test their apps and see how they will look on the iPad 3’s 2048-by-1536 pixel display.

Called Retina Simulator, the tool allows developers to create artwork with their existing assets and see how their hot-selling (or not-so-hot-selling) iOS apps will look on the iPad’s Retina Display.

To be noted that Apple hasn’t yet confirmed that the next generation of tablet computers will boast an enhanced screen. Nonetheless, all signs point to Retina display this time around.

Petrich’s simulator is a free download. Visit his Twitter stream here for all the necessary info, and the download link.
