Apple has pushed out a new iOS beta to developers containing fixes for the recently reported lock-screen bug that allows people to bypass an iPhone’s security to access sensitive information.

iOS 6.1.3 build 10B318 is actually labeled as “beta 2.” The build supersedes iOS 6.1.1 beta 1, developers tell us.

Apple has decided to rename the numerical designation, along with the beta count, signaling that the development cycle started with the first iOS 6.1.1 beta is moving forward.

A developer tells us that Apple has patched the widely reported lock-screen security bug which enabled anyone with physical access to an iPhone to bypass the passcode and access personal information on the device, including contacts and photos.

The build also includes several enhancements to the Apple Maps application. iOS 6.1.3 Beta 2 is available to download on Apple’s iOS Dev Center.

The software is compatible with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPod touch (4th generation), iPod touch (5th generation), iPad 2 Wi-Fi, iPad 2 Wi-Fi + 3G, iPad (3rd generation), iPad Wi-Fi + 4G, iPad (4th generation), iPad Wi-Fi + Cellular (4th generation), iPad mini and iPad mini Wi-Fi + Cellular.
