Released almost two full days ahead of its scheduled debut, the iOS 4.3 IPSW is now available for free download from Apple’s servers by plugging your iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad into your computer running iTunes on either Mac or Windows.

As expected, the software update delivers the key enhancements noted by Apple on the iOS 4.3 marketing page, including the Personal Hotspot feature for GSM iPhones, iTunes Home Sharing, new AirPlay features, and the faster Safari web browser.

Not so expected are a few additions regarding HD video out, new Ping features, and new settings, including a message setting for the number of times to repeat an alert.

The new Ping features, for those who may be interested, include push notifications for comments and follow requests; the ability to post and Like songs directly from the Now Playing screen; and parental controls.

As for the HD video out capability using the Apple Digital AV Adapter, new-generation device owners can use it to view 720p HD videos from the built-in Videos app, as well as from the iPod app, Photos, YouTube, Safari, Keynote, and enabled third-party apps on an HDMI display.

Single tap conference call dialing with a pause to send a passcode has also been added. This feature, like a few others, weren’t even rumored to make their way into iOS, let alone expected.

On the Support area of its website, Apple posts the “system requirements” for iOS 4.3, which include an iPhone 4 with tethering data plan for Personal Hotspot; Apple TV (2nd generation) running software version 4.2 or later for the new AirPlay features; iPhone 4, iPad, or iPod touch (4th generation) for HD Video out using the Apple Digital AV Adapter.

As confirmed earlier this month, devices compatible with this software update are: iPhone 4 (GSM model); iPhone 3GS; iPad; iPod touch (4th generation); iPod touch (3rd generation).
