Apple has released iMovie 9.0.9, a new version of the company’s mid-level video editing software for Mac OS X. This is a bug fix release targeting owners of iMovie ‘11 (iLife ‘11).

iMovie 9.0.9 addresses issues where the application does not recognize video cameras connected to the Mac, whether you’re running OS X Lion v10.7.4 or a newer version of the operating system.

The update further improves compatibility with projects imported from iMovie on iOS, and packs a number of stability improvements that should prevent the app from misbehaving.

iMovie 9.0.9 goes onto Macs that are running OS X Lion, as well as on Mountain Lion machines. The download is over 1GB in size, so be prepared to wait a while until you can start the installation.
