Apple has released an update to users of its iLife suite and the iMovie video-editing software application. iMovie 8.0.4 fixes a few issues and improves the stability of the software when the user adds multiple beat markers in some languages.

On the Support section of its website, Apple describes the iMovie 8.0.4 update as seen below.

About iMovie 8.0.4

This update improves overall stability and fixes a number of other minor issues. The issues addressed include:

- Fixed a problem with incorrect rotation when working with video created by iPhone 3GS; - Resolved instability when adding multiple beat markers in some languages; - Corrected an issue where iMovie could become unresponsive after using fine-tuning controls beyond the stabilized portions of a clip.

The Mac maker claims iMovie 8.0.4 is recommended for all users of iMovie '09. Mac owners can download the new software via their Macs' build-in software updaters (Apple Menu -> Software Update), or manually, using the standalone installer from Apple's servers.

iMovie version 8.0.4 was posted on July 16, 2009, weighs in at around 35 MB and requires Mac OS X version 10.5.6 or later. Supported languages include Deutsch, English, Français, Español, Italiano, Nederlands, Dansk, Norsk Bokmål, Polski, Português, Português, Brasileiro, Pусский, Suomi, Svensk, Chinese, Japanese and Koreean.

iMovie '09, released in January 2009 as part of the iLife '09 suite, introduced some new features, but also restored some old ones from previous versions of the software. Those include basic video effects (such as fast/slow motion and aged film) and image stabilization. Travel map functions, for marking locations where a video was shot, have also been reintroduced. Other improvements were carried out on the audio-editing front. The improved software was marked by the addition of full iDVD support as well (unavailable in iMovie '08).
