gMaps is one of the best Google Maps clients for Windows 8, especially since the Mountain View-based search giant doesn’t plan to release any other programs aimed at Microsoft’s new operating system.

The application has recently received an update that brings new features and a couple of bug fixes, thus making it work more smoothly on all Windows 8 versions.

According to the official release notes published in the Store, gMaps now boasts German and Ukrainian localization, as well as two fixes for bugs affecting the East and West directions on the compass button.

Of course, gMaps continues to work flawlessly on all Windows 8 builds, as it also offers a UI completely optimized for the touch, specifically aimed at Windows RT tablets.
