Fixes trouble with MP3 decoder, stable build getting closer

After spending three weeks in the making, the third beta for foobar2000 rolled out, with a fix for an MP3 decoder regression.

The trouble with the MP3 decoder was that it would cause glitches when decoding files that have been split from a longer original file. There aren’t any other modifications listed for this revision of the player, which could mean that the development is getting closer to a stable release.

Among the most notable improvements available in Foobar2000 1.12 is the ability to HDCD & DTS decoder components with ALAC. Also, it adds the option to prevent the computer from going to sleep when operations that generally take longer to complete (audio conversions or ReplayGain scanning) are running.

foobar2000 is available for download from this page; it can also be installed as a portable application.
