Parallels Inc. customers will be glad to learn that the latest Windows 8 preview is now obtainable through the interface of Parallels Desktop for Mac, thanks to a recent update.

In fact, the sole purpose of the update was to add support for Windows 8 Release Preview, albeit “experimental” (geek talk for not-fully-tested-and-certified). You can now "download and install Windows 8 Release Preview right from the Parallels Wizard," the vendor says.

For this, you need a Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or Xeon processor, at least 2 GB of RAM (4 GB recommended), and over 15 gigs of storage just to make sure your installation runs smoothly.

Newcomers need to fork out €79.99, or about $100 American for a single-user license.
