YouTube for Android devices hasn’t been updated with major changes for a long time. The application has received a few minor updates since last year, but nothing worth mentioning was included in the changelog list.

Today, along with the release of Google Camera and Chrome Remote Desktop applications, the search giant has uploaded a new version of YouTube.

Unfortunately, it appears that this is a staged rollout, which means that only a small percent of Android users have received the update. However, we are confident that the new version of YouTube will make it to all Android users in the coming days.

Given the fact that the changelog published on Google Play Store is very old and hasn’t been updated with the latest changes, we can only rely on users’ reports.

Thus, Droid-Life claims that the new YouTube application for Android devices has been updated with minor improvements and bug fixes, but also a major feature. It appears that with the new YouTube for Android app, users will be able to cast live videos to their Chromecast.

If you don’t want to wait for the rollout of the update to reach your country, you can now download YouTube for Android 5.6.31 for free via Softpedia. Keep in mind that the application should be fully compatible with all devices powered by Android 2.3.3 and up.
