Yahoo! Inc. has just announced the availability of the Yahoo! Weather application in the Android Market with new features and a complete redesign.

Android fans who are familiar with older beta versions of the weather application will be pleasantly surprised by the latest iteration of Yahoo! Weather.

The changes are evident even at first glance, as the application displays various photos from Flickr on the background of the current location or any other favorite location predefined.

The pictures are selected randomly, but they match weather conditions in the current location, as well as the season.

It is also worth mentioning that all photos in the Yahoo! Weather application are gathered from the Project Weather group on Flickr, which means that the number of pictures displayed will grow as more are submitted to the group.

Those who want to check out the pictures that are displayed randomly in the Yahoo! Weather application for Android can visit the project's webpage.

Furthermore, the application provides users with an instant five day forecast and quick access to detailed weather for the day.

With Yahoo! Weather is very easy to get detailed weather information throughout the day, as users will only need to slightly tilt the phone to receive all the info they need.

Obviously, the application comes with a weather widget that can be installed on the phone's home screen, hence users will stay updated when it comes to weather information.

With a single swipe users will be able to access up to 10 locations as well as The Weather Channel, directly from the home screen.

Last but not least, weather information can be shared, along with the corresponding photo, on Facebook, Twitter, as well as email.

Yahoo! Weather 1.0 for Android is now available as a free download from Softpedia and is compatible with all devices running Android 2.1 and up.
