Microsoft has just kicked off a beta program for its Xbox one SmartGlass application for Android and Windows Phone devices. We have already reported on the latter, so let’s see what the former brings to Android fans.

First of all, Microsoft has introduced OneGuide support directly built into the application. In addition, Android users will now be able to view exactly what’s on TV without having to interrupt what they are doing on their Xbox One console.

Android users can also take advantage of the new TV Universal Remote Control feature that allows them to control their Cable Box and TV.

There are several known issues listed by Microsoft that affect the current beta version of Xbox One SmartGlass, such as the fact that a few buttons in the Cable/TV remote may not work as they should, as well as the syncing of favorite TV listings on Android between console and SmartGlass.

Microsoft has also confirmed that some strings are out-of-date or missing and that users may get a blank screen when exiting the Android Cable/TV remote.

All in all, you can now download Xbox One SmartGlass Beta for Android 2.2.792.90 for free via Softpedia. Keep in mind that the application should be fully compatible with most devices powered by Android 4.0 and up.
