Even though 2D Boy intended the World of Goo HD price drop for those awaiting a cold and cheap Valentines Day, it appears that the ingenious puzzle game is still up for grabs for just one buck from the iTunes App Store.

The February 9th announcement on the 2D Boy web site reads, “Just a quick hint: We’ve scheduled World of Goo iPad for a one-day ‘99c Lonely Valentine Sale’ for Thursday, February 10th for everyone else out there awaiting a cold and cheap Valentines Day.

“‘We may not have love, but we’ll always have Goo’, said the big pink Beauty Ball as she rolled into the grinders,” the announcement ends.

It is unclear for how long this sale will last, but given the quality of this game, Softpedia strongly suggests that those with an iPad consider this dirt cheap purchase.

For those who haven’t been acquainted with World of Goo, it is a multiple award winning physics based puzzle / construction game developed by Ron Carmel and Kyle Gabler, the 2D Boys who invested all their savings in the development of the title.

According to Ron and Kyle, the original coding took place in WiFi-equipped cafes, which they called "offices."

The game was an instant hit when it launched in late 2008 for Mac OS X.

Two years down the drain, 2D Boy would launch an iOS-compatible port, which they saw approved by Apple in mid-December.

World of Goo 1.2 is the latest version available. A free update for existing players, the new release includes an option to skip levels (unlimited number of skips), and delivers more efficient memory management (resolves some rare crash bugs).

The update also fixes issues with clouds occasionally not showing up in world of goo corporation, and provides a workaround for iPads with invalid region format.
