14 DAY TRIAL // A new flavor of the WordPress application for Windows Phone devices is now available for download, namely version 2.0, with a nice range of enhancements packed inside.
The new flavor of the application provides users with the possibility to create galleries straight from their handsets, while also offering various gallery control options.
In fact, the gallery enhancements appear to be the main focus in this application release, as WordPress explains in a recent post on their official blog.
“Galleries are a great way to share pictures with your friends and followers. An image gallery will display thumbnails for all images attached to a particular post or page. Readers can tap or click any image to launch the gallery full-screen, displaying huge versions of your images,” said post reads.
“You can create a gallery straight from your device by attaching two or more pictures to a post or a page. You can even customize the appearance of a gallery by tapping the ‘gallery settings’ button and choosing the best options for your site.”
Users will be able to set the manner in which galleries are displayed straight from the Windows Phone device in their hand, with options such as thumbnail grid, tiled mosaic-style grid, and slideshow.
Those who opt in for a tiled mosaic-style grid will be able to choose between Rectangular, Square, and Circular formatting options, the blog post also explains.
Additionally, the new application release comes with easy site and dashboard access. There are new buttons on the Blog Screen for viewing the public website, along with a Dashboard link for fast access to the full WordPress Dashboard to modify plugins, widgets, and more.
On top of these enhancements, the new WordPress 2.0 for Windows Phone comes with various improvements for WordPress.com and Jetpack Stats, along with fixes for crashes and other bugs.
