14 DAY TRIAL // VITO Technology announced recently the release of a new version of its Winterface software solution for Windows Mobile-based handsets, Winterface 2.0. According to the company, the new version of Winterface offers users the possibility to customize the look of their handsets with 10 new skins, as well as with various background pictures, headings for the icons and more.
Here is what the company says about the addition of new skins to Winterface: “Some time ago we had a contest 'Give a new face to Winterface'. Thanks to this we got lots of skins made by our users for Winterface. Now we’re glad to announce the official support of the skins that we received during the contest. And all of our users now can choose the skins they liked here, download and install the cab file.”
Along with the aforementioned skins, Winterface 2.0 also comes with changeable background capabilities, enabling users to change either the background color in Casino and Tile skins or the entire picture in the background. The option to customize headings offers users the possibility to remove, change or add icon headings, so that they can name the applications available on their devices the way they like to.
The new version of Winterface also comes around with a series of functionality improvements, as well as with a series of bug fixes. When it comes to the improvements, the company says that users can now click on the dots at the bottom, so that the screen will immediately change, and that the applications can now be closed either one by one or all at the same time. The battery charge is shown in percentage, and any installed VITO software on the handset will have an icon corresponding with the selected skin.
On the bug fixes side, here is what we learn: “The lock screen of Winterface won’t interfere anymore while you’re speaking over the phone. If your device is switched on with a password Winterface will allow you to enter it. Calendar widget now shows the appointment for all future events as well as repeated appointments. The locked Winterface can’t be anymore closed by the 'v' gesture.”
