and with the showcasing of various applications for the Windows Phone 7 operating system, a new version of the Windows Phone 7 Training Kit for Developers has been made available for download, a RTM Refresh.
Microsoft is working hard on delivering as many resources to application builders as possible, and the release of the new Windows Phone Training Kit for Developers to match the RTM version of developer tools is one more step it takes in this direction.
According to a recent post on the Windows Phone Developer Blog, the new Training Kit includes a total of 12 labs, with 5 new labs added into the equation.
Here's what Microsoft says: “This release of the Windows Phone Training Kit for Developers includes all the labs from the previous Beta release (updated to the RTM tools) and all the Windows Phone session recordings from TechEd North America. In addition we added five new labs: - Using Silverlight Map Control and Bing Services - Building Silverlight Applications Using Panorama and Pivot Controls - Catapult Wars - A 2D Physics Game - Using Choosers and Handling Tombstone in XNA Framework Games - 3D Game Development with XNA Framework”
On top of that, the company announced that the rest of the labs have been updated too, so as to offer support for the RTM tools.
The complete list of labs in the Training Kit includes XNA Framework Labs like Game Development with XNA Framework, Catapult Wars Lab - A 2D Physics Game, Using Choosers and Handling Tombstone in XNA Framework Games, and 3D Game Development with XNA Framework.
The Silverlight labs there include: Hello Phone, Building Your First Windows Phone Application, Windows Phone Navigation and Controls, Using Push Notifications, Launcher and Choosers, Application Lifecycle, Using Bing Maps and Using Pivot and Panorama Controls.
Since the new Windows Phone 7 Training Kit for Developers is quite a large download, application builders are able to download only the Silverlight labs or only the XNA Framework Labs if they would like to do so.
