14 DAY TRIAL // An updated flavor of the Windows Azure SDK for .NET is now available for download, namely version 2.1, bringing along new iterations of the various tools included inside it and support for the new Windows 8.1 OS release.
Windows Azure SDK for .NET comes with SDKs, basic tools, and extended tools for Visual Studio 2010 SP1 / Visual Studio 2012 / Visual Studio 2013 Preview, meant as an extension for these, so as to allow developers to come up with scalable web applications and services on Windows Azure.
The package is provided as a web installer for x86 and x64 systems, but interested parties can also manually download each of the included components, provided that they do not need the entire suite.
The development tools feature support for Windows 7 SP 1, Windows 8.1, Windows 8.1 Preview, Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1, Windows Server 2008 SP 2, and Windows Server 2012, and require one of the aforementioned Visual Studio versions, and Visual Web Developer 2010 Express SP1 / 2012 / 2013 Preview, among other software.
