Owners of BlackBerry 10 smartphones can now download and install a new version of the Whine application on their devices, namely version 1.4.6.1.

The application was launched as an unofficial Vine client for the BlackBerry operating system, and comes as native software for the mobile platform.

According to the software’s description, those who will install the app will be able to take advantage of a full Vine experience while on the go.

“Whine is more than a Vine viewer, you can record and upload your vines. Create short, beautiful, looping videos in a simple and fun way for your friends and family to see,” Bojan Komljenovic, the app’s developer, explains.

In addition to allowing users to view and post videos on Vine, the app also enables them to share content to Twitter, Facebook, BBM or other social networks.

The mobile client was made available for download for free, and promises unlimited features available for those who will take it for a spin.

“Whine is completely free for you to use. However, if you would like to donate money as motivation and support, you can do it from within the application using the Donation menu,” the developer notes.

One thing that should be noted is the fact that the application makes use of a Vine API, and that it hasn’t been endorsed or certified by Vine.

Owners of BlackBerry handsets who have already installed the OS 10.2.1 platform upgrade to their devices can also go for the Vine for Android client, as the new OS version offers support for software developed for Google’s platform.

According to N4BB, users should consider going for Whine instead of Vine for Android, as they will receive a better experience when accessing the online service.

You can download Whine 1.4.6.1 for BlackBerry 10 from Softpedia today, completely free. Give it a try and let us know what you think of it.
