There’s no doubt about it, WhatsApp Messenger is among the most popular messaging applications for mobile phones of all time.

The Android version has more than 100 million downloads on Google Play Store, and we can safely assume it has at least as much in the App Store.

The latest iteration of WhatsApp for Android has just received a small update that further improves stability and performance.

According to developers, the update adds Google Play in-app purchase system for service extension, which means that WhatsApp users will be able to purchase various things directly within the application.

Several miscellaneous bug fixes have been included in the update as well, along with some localization improvements.

WhatsApp Messenger 2.9.378 is now available as a free download via Google Play store and it should be fully compatible with all devices running Android 2.1 and up. Check it out here.
