Popular messenger application for mobile devices WhatsApp has just received a maintenance update which promises to address some of the bugs found and reported by Android users.

Firstly, the latest update fixes some critical bugs that are currently plaguing several Sony Ericsson models. In addition, developers also fixed the media upload. Last but not least, this version of WhatsApp features updated localization.

WhatsApp Messenger 2.8.5732 is now available as a free download via Google Play store and it should be fully compatible with all devices running Android 2.1 and up.

Keep in mind that you will have to pay a $0.99 USD/year fee to make use of WhatsApp Messenger features, after the first year. It is also worth mentioning that the application may not work on all devices that run custom Android ROMs.
