A new version of WhatsApp Messenger for Android devices has just been released, but those expecting the update to pop up on their smartphone should know that this won’t happen.

The latest iteration has been uploaded on the developer’s website and there’s no changelog available for the moment. There may be some new features included that WhatsApp wants to test before pushing the new version onto Google Play, but we can’t confirm it.

Some bug fixes and minor improvements are likely to be included as well. Those who wish to stay up to date with the latest version of WhatsApp Messenger should know that these beta versions might also contain bugs.

You can now download WhatsApp Messenger for Android 2.11.143 for free via Softpedia. Keep in mind that the application should be fully compatible with all devices running Android 2.1 and up.
