The popular WhatsApp application for devices running under Microsoft’s Windows Phone operating system has been updated to version 2.9.4.

The new app release comes with a series of fixes for issues that were spotted in version 2.9.3 of the app, including some for crashes on Settings and app install on a small number of 7.x devices. Additionally, the new app release should no longer hang at installation for Finnish and Polish users.

WhatsApp 2.9.4 for Windows Phone, available for download on this page, also packs the enhancements that were included in version 2.9.3, such as various tweaks for the user interface.

The app also packs performance and stability improvements when WhatsApp enters and leaves the foreground on WP8.

“WhatsApp uses your 3G or WiFi (when available) to message with friends and family. Switch from SMS to WhatsApp to send and receive messages, pictures, audio notes, and video messages,” the app’s description reads.
