An updated flavor of the WhatsApp Messenger application is now available for download for the owners of BlackBerry 10 devices out there, namely version 2.11.662.

The new software release arrives on handsets with a new in-app media browser, as well as with a series of performance improvements when opening chats from the hub.

At the same time, the new application iteration features better face-proximity detection during voice message playback (only on BlackBerry 10.2 devices).

Moreover, the new WhatsApp Messenger for BlackBerry 10 will prevent the picker from closing when holding Alt while tapping Emoji on the Q-series smartphones, the changelog that has emerged over at CrackBerry unveils.

One other change in this software release is related to the chat screen, which now features new settings to change "Send" button behavior and show the floating action bar (users can find it under "Advanced Settings").

Apparently, the updated application also comes with a series of various bug fixes packed inside, which should result in a better overall experience available for all users.

Those of you who would like to learn more on the new flavor of the software should grab it on their devices. You can download WhatsApp Messenger for BlackBerry 10 from Softpedia today (however, users installing it via the BlackBerry World will see it as version 2.1.1.604.2).
