A new beta release of Vuze is now available to Mac, Windows, and Linux users featuring a couple of updates that affect tagging and mappings.

Vuze (formerly known as Azureus) is a popular peer-to-peer (P2P) file sharing client which lets you download and use .torrent files.

Released hours ago, Vuze 5.1.0.1 Beta 10 continues the planned migration from categories to tags by enabling tagging support for device transcodes.

The new version further implements a function (which reportedly came as a suggestion from a regular user) to allow “transcode never” as an option for auto-transcode mappings. No word on when Vuze 5.1.0.1 Final is set to ship.

Vuze requires Java 1.6 or later on the Mac and Windows, and Java 2 Standard Edition Runtime Environment on Linux.
