14 DAY TRIAL // Hamrick Software has updated its cross-platform scanning utility, VueScan, adding some new features, fixes, and under-the-hood code corrections.
VueScan 9.4.19 is a free download for all existing users. The update, packing both new features and fixes, is available for all supported platforms, including Mac OS X (starting with version 10.5 aka Leopard), Windows, and Linux.
The update is an important one. It brings improved infrared cleaning with two-pass infrared film scanners, adds a "Last page" option to "Prefs | Button N action," and offers Windows support for networked WIA Canon MF-series scanners.
Under the hood, update 9.4.19 fixes a problem with some newer Canon printer/scanner/copiers, and issues with button polling on some WIA scanners.
