Hamrick Software is out with a new version of VueScan, the company’s powerful scanning utility for Mac, Windows, and Linux computers.

Supporting thousands of devices, VueScan allows Mac, Windows, and Linux users to employ any scanner they want, without having to install special drivers. The software also provides support for age-old devices which may or may not have drivers associated with them.

VueScan 9.4.09 fixes a problem with excessive memory use, a problem with occasional crashes, and some issues with 4800 dpi scan on Epson Perfection V370, and 1200 dpi scans on Canon MG6300 and MG7100.

The app exhibited some issues on Windows 2000, which are addressed in this release. Finally, the update allows Mac users to keep visibility of the Library folder unchanged.
