14 DAY TRIAL // Social networking platform Vonage has announced an update to its free communications app for iOS devices, Vonage Mobile – Voice, Text, and Video version 2.2.2.
A free app for all iPhone and iPod touch users, Vonage Mobile lets you place free calls, send texts and share photos with other Vonagers over Wi-Fi and cellular.
In version 2.2.2, audio quality has been improved, according to the app’s developers. Users who’ve been experiencing Bluetooth issues should see some improvements, and the update also includes “additional bug and Maintenance fixes,” says Vonage.
Users are advised to use the app over Wi-Fi when traveling internationally (to save costs), while those who need to add calling credit can do so at any time via in-app purchases.
Vonage Mobile requires iOS 4.3, which means it works with most iDevices currently in circulation. The app, however, is not iPad-native (though it does run on tablets in a miniaturized mode).
