Owners of Android-based devices can now download and install a new flavor of the Viber application, namely version 3.1, which brings along a handful of new, highly appealing features.
Following the update to the new application release, users who like taking advantage of the features of Viber for free messaging and HD-quality phone calls will also be able to paint the images they send to their contacts.
Basically, the updated software iteration makes a variety of actions more fun than before, including sending a note to a friend, personalizing a photo with a special message, and the like.
At the same time, the updated Viber for Android application comes with various performance improvements, while also providing users with a “seen status,” so that they would know when their messages have been viewed.
The updated application also packs better support for Viber Desktop on Windows and Mac, brings along some new emoticons, and also resolves various bugs previously found to affect users’ experience.
“Viber is a feature rich platform that gives our users multiple ways to communicate freely. We are constantly working to expand and enhance that functionality to give users complete freedom over the way they communicate,” said Talmon Marco, CEO of Viber.
“We think the new doodle feature will not only prove to be incredibly fun for Viber users, but will also make Viber that much more useful as a communications tool.”
The new version of Viber for Android will be capable of delivering great performance enhancements to all users, the company announced.
The software was also released localized into 16 languages, including Croatian, Czech, Danish, Finnish, Greek, Hindi, Hungarian, Indonesian, Malay, Norwegian, Polish, Romanian, Slovak, Thai, Tagalog, and Ukrainian.
Version 3.0 of the application also brought along a new user interface, the possibility to transfer live calls between an Android handset and a desktop PC, the option to send video messages, and the like, improvements that are available inside the new release as well.
