14 DAY TRIAL // Guild Software has released a new patch for its massively multiplayer online space strategy game, Vendetta Online. The update introduces Dynamic Warfare, “a new long-term battle and large-scale warfare mechanic designed to permit inter-faction wars to conquer geographical areas,” as Guild Software puts it.
Vendetta Online is Guild Software's first major product, a MMORPG set in space. This title is intended to let the player create an existence of their own, amid the stormy chaos of a persistent, evolving universe. Vendetta Online allows them to create their own characters, turning them into rich captains of industry, military heroes, or outlaws. The game boasts real-time “twitch” style combat and RPG gameplay elements.
“With tonight's release, 1.8.72, Vendetta Online launches Dynamic Warfare, a new long-term battle and large-scale warfare mechanic designed to permit inter-faction wars to conquer geographical areas,” Guild Software states.
“In this first-generation implementation, the Itani and Serco vie for weekly control of 177 sectors in the Deneb system. Several different battles may be running concurrently at any time, with a variety of different battle scales from epic fleet conflicts to small fight-only engagements. This diversity of scale allows both varied gameplay styles and accessibility to players on older computing hardware,” the company reveals. – Dynamic Warfare in Deneb! The Serco and Itani vie for control of sectors in a week-long conflict. Conquered sectors are indicated in the nav map. – Pilots now always show up as friendly in the gunner's radar. – NFZ indicator now appears on gunner's HUD when in a no-fire zone. – Fixed free repair for players who take part of any Border Skirmish type of missions. – Fix to disable shaders for Intel GMA 950 chipsets on Windows.
