The good folks at VideoLAN have just announced that the next version of VLC for Android devices is now being pushed onto Google Play Store.

According to the developers, about 20% of Android devices should receive the update automatically, while the rest will probably get it in the coming days.

More importantly, VideoLAN has confirmed that VLC for Android 0.9.2 has also been delivered to Nokia Store and Amazon Appstore for reviewing.

This means that very soon, those who access Amazon’s application store, as well as Android users with Nokia X smartphones will be able to grab the new version of VLC.

For the time being, the only changes included in this version are those tweeted by the developers, at least until the official changelog gets listed on Google Play Store.

Anyway, VLC 0.9.2 is said to bring lots of new bug fixes and improvements, along with translation and DVD ISO support. We don’t expect any other important features to be added, so we assume that these are the most important ones.

Those who already have the application installed on their devices should be notified of the update soon, while new users can download VLC for Android 0.9.2 via Softpedia (apk).

Keep in mind that this is still a beta version, so you may encounter bugs and slow performance at times.
