VideoLAN today is happy to present to you VLC 2.1.2 for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad, which brings compatibility fixes for iOS 7 customers, as well as other tweaks and enhancements.

VLC for iOS 2.1.2 reportedly includes crash fixes on iOS 7, for those of you whining at home that you couldn’t watch Drop Dead Diva in the bathroom.

In typical VideoLAN style, the changelog also mentions “better Upnp support” in this release (as if iPhone users are supposed to know what that even means), as well as “new translations,” but the release notes don’t mention any particular languages where these improvements should be felt. Which probably means all of them.

So anyway, that’s your VLC update for today. Don’t forget to tune in next time for more geeky nomenclature and an overall better VLC player for your shiny iOS device.

Update: VideoLAN tells me the translations are for Hungarian and Swedish, if anyone's asking. The developers also made some alterations to the changelog for a better understanding of the update.
