14 DAY TRIAL // Nokia smartphone owners out there can now enjoy a series of updated software solutions from the Finnish mobile phone maker, including new flavors of Nokia Ovi Suite 2.1 Beta and Nokia Image Exchange. The former application comes with a long list of fixed issues, as well as with improved functionality, while the latter comes in a more stable form than before, again via a series of bug fixes that have been included in the new release.
Some of the changes the updated version of Nokia Ovi Suite 2.1 Beta comes around with include: - Fixed for Thunderbird 3.0 support, now you can choose Thunderbird 3.0 for contacts sync in Nokia Ovi Suite - Fixes for multiple crash errors detected during Beta testing, for example related to maps view and calendar sync - Improvements in overall Nokia Ovi Suite stability - Many fixes to sync reliability - Fixes issues related to ovi.com contacts sync (automatic sync option for contacts didn’t work properly) - Improved checking for new software updates and other fixes to software updater features - Fixes to video support, improvements into video support stability - Fix for SIS application installation (double clicking SIS now works properly and starts installation procedure into device) - Many fixes to Nokia Ovi Suite UI localizations (languages)
Nokia Ovi Suite 2.1 Beta, the software solution that owners of a Nokia phone use to connect their handsets to a Windows-based computer, is delivered mainly for testing purposes at the moment, the guys over at Nokia Beta Labs note. Those who will give it a try should provide feedback so that more improvements are included in future releases. However, the older but stable Nokia Ovi Suite 2.0 is also available for download for those not fond of betas.
As for Nokia Image Exchange, the experimental imaging service from Nokia aimed at offering users more fun and easy browsing and sharing of images, it has now been updated with fixes and user interface improvements, Nokia Beta Labs notes. The solution is available for download both for touch and non-touch Symbian devices, including Nokia 5530, 5800 Xpress Music, N97 and X6, as well as S60 non-touch and S40 phones.
