The last of the four software updates issued by Apple yesterday, Unitor Family Driver 2.5, is now available for users of Logic Studio, the digital audio workstation and MIDI sequencer for Mac OS X. The update addresses isolated reliability issues, especially when using multiple Unitors, according to Apple.

The company behind the Mac operating system specifically notes that the Unitor driver supports several MIDI interfaces, including Unitor8, AMT8, and MT4. Logic Studio users are encouraged to download the latest version of the Unitor Family Driver. Version 2.5, posted on January 18, 2010, is just 514KB in size and requires Mac OS X 10.5.7, according to Apple.

Recently, Apple released Logic Pro 9.1, an update that delivers improved compatibility and numerous fixes. It can be acquired from the company’s Downloads section by entering a valid Logic Pro 9 serial number. According to the release notes, issues addressed in this update include: support for 64-bit native mode; compatibility with 64-bit Audio Unit plug-in, file names with over 32 characters are now supported; samples are now mapped correctly when using the “Contiguous Zones” option in the EXS editor. The full release notes for Logic Pro 9.1 are available elsewhere on the company’s website. Softpedia will be discussing those in a separate article today.

An update that delivers improved compatibility and numerous fixes was also released for users of Main Stage 2, the tool utilized for live performances employed by Logic Studio. Just like with Logic Pro 9.1, issues addressed in MainStage 2.1 include support for 64-bit native mode, compatibility with 64-bit Audio Unit plug-ins, as well as more reliable syncing of multiple Playback plug-ins, and improved recording when using the Loopback plug-in.
